Founded in 1883 by Socrate Malot and renamed in 1920 to honor his brother Sadi, who lost his life in World War I, Champagne Sadi Malot is a historic family-run grower-producer (Récoltant-Manipulant). Based in the premier cru village of Villers-Marmery, the house is now led by the fifth generation—Socrate’s great-great-granddaughter Cindy Malot and her partner Florian Villiere, who took over in 2016.
While the Montagne de Reims is renowned for Pinot Noir, Villers-Marmery is a rare enclave of exceptional Chardonnay, thanks to its unusual limestone bedrock more commonly associated with the Côte des Blancs. This unique terroir shapes wines with remarkable elegance, minerality, and finesse, offering a distinctive expression of Champagne.
750 ml Low StockThe Sadi Malot Les Deux Cépages Champagne is a blend of 60% pinot noir and chardonnay. Its sensory profile is exceptionally fresh, high toned, and complex, delivering an energetic, precise, and sophisticated portrait of chalk terroir. The bouquet opens with a soaring display of crisp green apple, white peach, lemon zest, and sliced Anjou pear, seamlessly layered with complex underlays of white flowers, crushed chalk, wet stone, fresh brioche, and toasted almonds. On the palate, the wine is medium to full bodied, sleek, and athletic, showcasing a succulent core of tart orchard fruit, citrus peel, and salted melon. It is characterized by its outstanding inner energy and an incisive, mouthwatering backbone of natural acidity that effortlessly elevates its mid palate density. The mouthfeel is weightless, silky, and creamy, carrying into an extraordinarily long, dry, and mineral driven finish accented by persistent notes of limestone chalk and lemon oil
