"Baldur’s Release No. 012 is a bold 10-year-old 100% rye whisky shaped by a unique dual-barrel maturation. It began its journey in small 10-gallon new oak barrels, where intense wood contact developed rich caramel, toasted vanilla, and warm baking spice before being transferred to once-used bourbon barrels to mature gracefully and gain balance.
The result is a full-bodied rye with layers of dark toffee, toasted oak, cracked pepper, cinnamon, and vanilla, delivering exceptional depth while allowing the classic rye character to shine. Rich, complex, and remarkably smooth, Release No. 012 offers a long, warming finish that perfectly balances bold rye spice with refined oak sweetness."
Baldur's Whisky is made by Last Mountain Distillery, which was founded by Colin and Meredith Schmidt. The distillery resides in Lumsden, Saskatchewan. Established in 2010, Last Mountain was the first micro distillery to launch in the province; in a garage no less. The equipment was moved to its current building a year later. Last Mountain creates a multitude of spirits including Gin, Vodka, Rum, and whisky.
