The name comes from a very old plot of Cinsault which at the time was a grape variety a little despised:their neighboring winemakers advised them to tear it out. But they had a crush on the wines she produced, with incomparable finesse and fruit. The name Fruit Defended fits perfectly with this wine by the intense expression of fruit but it also means for us the defense of this grape variety then endangered.
