From the Brewery; "Backcountry began on one fateful Christmas party where its five owner-operators first met. After a few beers and a bit of banter, they realized they all had the same dream and decided to join forces as they each had a different piece of the puzzle to opening a brewery. This new group of friends decided on brewing in the beautiful mountain town of Squamish BC, head brewer John Folinsbee’s hometown. Since opening the brewery, tasting room, kitchen and retail store in 2017, Backcountry has found a nice groove in BC’s craft beer scene. At the BC Beer awards that same year, Backcountry was awarded “Rookie of the year” with medals for all three core beers as well as “Best Social Media”.
