Quercus whatnow? Quercus Humboldtii is an oak species from Colombia apparently. No - not British Columbia. That would be Quercus Garryana. Quercus Humbolldtii is also known as Andean Oak and is native to Colombia and Panama. Thanks Wikipedia!
Anyhow, this single malt from Raasay Distillery was fully matured in Colombian Oak before being bottled at 50.7%. If you are looking to see how Columbian oak changes a whisky versus the more typical French, Spanish, or American oak casks, now is your chance!

This is a peated Raasay, first matured in a freshly charred and toasted, custom-made Chinkapin oak cask and then finshed in PX and Oloroso Sherry. It is bottled at 60.1%.
