About The Winery
Cantina Cosimo Taurino was founded in 1970 by the legendary Apulian producer, Cosimo Taurino. He was a pioneer of Negroamaro, and of the Apulian wine industry, changing it's reputation of the 'not so great southern region that only produces bulk grapes for the north' to a region known for it's high-quality red and rosé wines. Ever since the winery opened it's doors, they have continued to grow and produce some of the best wines Puglia has to offer.

Domus Aquilae is a full-bodied red wine made from old vine Garnacha grapes. Carthusian monks founded this former monastery at the foot of the Montsant mountain range in the 12th century. The new owners - the Vives family - have restored the farm and vineyards, the very same land where the monks cultivated their vines, olive trees and orchards. The winery and accompanying luxury hotel are situated in the middle of the Montsant Natural Park, where you can immerse yourself in the landscape, silence and gastronomy of the region. It all began in 2007 with the first five hectares of an old Malbec vineyard that the brothers acquired a few steps from the winery, on Callejón de la Reta. Since then, a path of recovery and revaluation of the history and traditions of an emblematic wine region of Lujan de Cuyo begins: Las Compuertas. Over the years, more hectares were added to the project, today 31, and they baptized this place with the name of their mother, as Finca Victoria. This work seeks to accompany the development of producers in the area who maintain their vineyards with pride in the face of the unstoppable advance of urbanization.
