The special Le Caractère Cuvée M is made of all vintages from 2002 to present. Each year, this solera Champagne has ¼ of its total volume renewed with the latest vintage. The resulting champagne expresses the evolution of Champagne A. Margaine as it continues to pass from father Arnaud to daughter Mathilde.
The Champagnes from father-daughter duo Arnaud & Mathilde Margaine are a KWM exclusive, and they are exceptional. With vineyards based in Montagne de Reims, they specialize in Chardonnay (90%) although they also have a small plot of Pinot Noir. This small estate (7 hectares) was started by Arnaud's father (Bernard) in the 1950s and is organically farmed. The vines average 35 years of age and the Chardonnay is produced from a clone unique to the area.

In 1973, Philippe Le Grix de la Salle left the Créon cooperative and started up his winery. This was the birth of Grand Verdus as a wine château in the classic Bordeaux mould. Under the courtyard of the 400-year-old structure are the wine cellars. The stainless steel tanks are among the first installed in Gironde.
