Matured in First Fill and Refill Sherry before bottling at 46%, this 15 year old Mortlach is part of the G&M Distillery Label range.

Nose: Distinctly malty initially with fresh aromas of a woodland hedgerow. Delicate Sherry notes linger and weave with rich indulgent toffee, sweet liquorice, and orange marmalade.
Taste: Reminiscent of a Black Forest cake; the initial sweetness develops into fruity blackcurrant jam, maraschino cherry, and creamy vanilla. Freshly peeled orange notes add a fresh lift.
Finish: Well rounded; hints of candied citrus fruits and oak complement the lingering malty edge.

Balmenach Distillery was founded in 1824 and resides in the Highlands. This single cask of Balmenach was matured and bottled by Gordon & MacPhail. It was distilled in 2008 and bottled after 14 Years maturing in a first fill sherry hogshead at 62.6%. 327 bottles were filled in total for The Whisky Explorer Society.

Bottled under Gordon & MacPhail's Distillery Label range, this 1996 vintage Ardmore was matured in refill American hogsheads, before bottling at 46%. It is comparable aged and priced to the 25 Year G&M CC Ardmore 1997 KWM Cask we are expecting in early April... thought the latter is cask strength, and rather sherried!
