Translating to "lazy bones" in Spanish, the artistically unique Dormilona revel in a laidback nature-championing style of winemaking sure to please the heart and the tastebuds alike, especially with a drop like the Blanco.
Made from naturally farmed fruit with best practice biodynamic and organic processes, the Dormilona Blanco is an amazing dry drop made with minimal intervention (a teensy bit of sulphur at bottling). What you get is a true expression of the vineyard's style: juicy, savoury and with a green capsicum and vanilla hit that's intriguing enough to rattle your second-bottle bones.

2017 is a major vintage for this wine as they are celebrating 40 years of this Semillon wine. 1977 was the first year that Moss Wood produced a Semillon for commercial use. It was made with no barrel treatment and upon the first year of production was a major head turner. According to the winery "The wine has medium straw colour, with some green tints and its condition is bright. On the nose it is ethereal, with lifted perfumes of lemon sherbet, green apples, honey suckle and figs. Underneath there is just some early suggestions of the variety’s complex features like lanolin and mushroom. We always expect our Semillon to be relatively firm as a youngster and this wine certainly has good acidity and tannin. However, the fruit flavours of limes, figs and lychees are rich, generous and mouth-filling, so the wine displays softness and drinkability only seen in the great years."

Orenji is a cheeky little number. A blend of Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc, hand-harvested from an organic vineyard in Margaret River. Jo let the fruit hang out on skins for six weeks before pressing it and putting it to bed in barrel.
She wants this to be a friendly style of orange wine, not a big, scary, chewy number.
It's something you can knock back without thinking too much about. And if you're keen to get your head around skinsy whites, it's a terrific place to start.
