Winery Tasting Note (2017 Vintage)

I suggest gently decanting this wine as it’s quite tightly wound. As it opens, aromas of cranberry, black raspberry and black cherry emerge. Oregano leaf and dried thyme add detail. The palate is focused and linear upon entry with good acid tension and obvious deep lurking power. The bright, spicy herbal tones give way to a broad layered texture; there’s lovely horizontal flow here. All elements are wonderfully intertwined with an extended flavor delivery across the entire arc of the palate. This vintage will be very long-lived; fifteen years should be no problem. Open your first bottles in late 2020.

Robertparker.com Tasting Note (2018 Vintage)

96 Points - Erin Brooks - "The 2018 Pinot Noir Estate Vineyard comes from Swan and Calera clones planted in 2004 at a high vine density (3,630 vines per acre). Medium ruby-purple, it's richly scented of warm cranberry sauce, black cherries, tea leaves, tobacco and earth with floral notes. Medium-bodied, it floods the mouth with dark, earth-laced fruits cut through with bright red berry and citrusy pops. It has a firm, finely grained frame and addicting juiciness, finishing very long. Wow!"

Robertparker.com Tasting Note (2017 Vintage)

94 Points - Erin Brooks - "Pale to medium ruby, the 2017 Pinot Noir Estate Vineyard offers aromas of prosciutto, pepper, nutmeg and clove with red and black cherries, perfumed earth, potpourri and amaro hints. The palate is light to medium-bodied and silky, with intense flavor layers framed by fine-grained tannins and juicy freshness, finishing very long and energetic."

DuMOL was founded in 1996, focusing on Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from distinctive vineyards in Sonoma and Napa Valley.  Over the 25 years of operation, they have honed their skill in making wines of place and distinction.  DuMOL has added to the roster of varietals to include small lots of Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Viognier.  DuMOL is farming small select parcels across more than two dozen very special vineyard sites. These sites include their own vineyard as well as others in the Russian River Valley and sites in Sonoma Coast and Carneros regions.  Andy Smith, head winemaker and partner, says it takes time to determine the detailed characteristics of a vineyard and then to use the right winemaking techniques to produce the best wine possible from that site.  The capacity at the winery is 15,000 cases annually. The winery is not open to the public and sales are through their mailing list, restaurants and a small selection of public retailers.

Kensington Wine Market is honoured to be one of DuMOL's exclusive wine stores.
